A real estate QR code you can repoint when the listing changes

A sign rider, a flyer box, a just-listed postcard: real estate print gets made once and stays out for weeks. The listing behind it doesn't hold still. The price changes, the open house moves, the house goes under contract, and then the sign goes up in front of the next property.

Two ways a code on a sign goes wrong

1. The code points straight at one listing page. A static code has the web address printed into its squares. When that listing comes down, or its address on the site changes, the code on the sign opens a page that's gone, and the only fix is a new sign.

2. The code belongs to a subscription. Many "free" QR generators make dynamic codes that route through their own servers, then turn into a subscription after a short trial. Stop paying and every sign, flyer and postcard carrying that code stops with it. We priced one such app out line by line in how the trap works.

What a sign code needs

Three ways to do it with us

Already have a listing page? A $19 code, paid once, points at the listing on your brokerage's site or wherever it lives online. When the house sells, point the same code at your next listing. Change it whenever you like. No extra charge while HelmQR operates the service. You get PNG, SVG and print-ready PDF files; the SVG and PDF are vector drawings. Two ready-to-print signs for a listing come with it, made from your code. An 18 x 24 in yard sign is the one for the street: its code scans from about 8 feet, which is the pavement, not a passing car. A 6 x 24 in rider is for people walking up to the sign: its code scans from about 2.5 feet. The sign builder shows the figure for your own code. A window sign and a counter card come with it too.

No page worth sending a buyer to? A $99 code and hosted page, paid once, gives you a property listing page at helmqr.com/oak-street-house: the price, the specifications, the open house and your photographs. You edit it yourself, whenever you like, with no extra charge while HelmQR operates the service.

A code for every sign? Packs are 3 codes for $45, 5 for $69 or 10 for $99, paid once. Every code works exactly like a $19 code and has its own edit link, so each sign can point at its own listing.

One payment. No monthly fee from us. It keeps working while we operate the service. Not a promise the service runs indefinitely.

Knowing whether the sign is doing anything

Every code that opens through us comes with a scan report on your private edit page: how many times it was scanned, on which days and at what hours, roughly where (never closer than a city) and on a phone, tablet or desktop. Give each code a nickname, like "Oak St sign" or "Open house flyer", and you can tell which piece of print is being scanned. We never store IP addresses, and nothing in the report can identify a person.

Questions

Can I point the code at a new listing after the first one sells?

Yes. Open your private edit link, paste the new address, and the sign you already printed opens the new listing. There's no extra charge for the change while HelmQR operates the service.

What does an old flyer open after I change the code?

Whatever the code points at now. A flyer, a rider and a postcard that carry the same code all open the same place, so point it somewhere that still makes sense for all of them.

Do I need a different code for every listing?

No. One code can move from listing to listing. Separate codes are worth it when you want each sign to open its own listing at the same time, or want a scan report for each.
